"A perfect ten. Artistic, vibrant, and truly the best of the best - you'll never want to hire anyone else again. Brittany exudes positive energy and has a gentle way of putting you at ease, she makes you feel comfortable enough to express yourself, you forget she's holding a camera and the results are magic."

California is my home. My love. A treasure trove of beauty in all directions.
“This morning I saw a coyote walking through the sagebrush right at the very edge of the ocean ― next stop China. The coyote was acting like he was in New Mexico or Wyoming, except that there were whales passing below. That’s what this country does for you. Come down to Big Sur and let your soul have some room to get outside its marrow.”
- Richard Brautigan, A Confederate General from Big Sur

"I would give Brittany App & App's Photography more than 5 stars, if I could. Brittany is both professional and fun. She made sure my wedding party and family felt comfortable around her, and made everyone laugh, so it was easy to take a lot of photos. And her photos are amazing! She goes above and beyond to find gorgeous settings where no one else sees them, and the end product is breathtaking. The best in the biz! Seriously!"

"There is no end to education. It is not that you read a book, pass an examination, and finish with education. The whole of life, from the moment you are born to the moment you die, is a process of learning."

Semester at Sea
"Established in 1963, Semester at Sea is the only study abroad program of its kind in the world. Using a ship as a traveling campus, undergraduates, lifelong learners, faculty, and lecturers live and learn together while circumnavigating the globe each fall and spring semester and exploring a world region each May and summer term."
I have had the utter good fortune to sail twice as the Staff Photographer for this incredible program, and hope for more opportunites in my future.
The Mission of Semester at Sea is "to educate individuals with the global understanding necessary to address the challenges of our interdependent world. With the world as our classroom, our unique shipboard program integrates multiple-country study, interdisciplinary coursework, and hands-on field experiences for meaningful engagement in the global community."
In the Fall of 2010, my friend Garrett and I pedaled our bicycles across the United States to raise awareness about the Global Water Crisis, and to raise funds for WaterAid International. We followed the Southern Tier, fully self-supported – covering 3,200 miles between San Diego, California and St. Augustine, Florida. We completed the journey in three months – averaging 50 miles a day. We invite you to join us through the 16-part film series, "Water Tension", available for free on our website, filmed & edited by Garrett Russell.

“She is free in her wildness, she is a wanderess, a drop of free water. She knows nothing of borders and cares nothing for rules or customs. 'Time' for her isn’t something to fight against. Her life flows clean, with passion, like fresh water.”

“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all of one’s lifetime.”

“Why do you go away? So that you can come back. So that you can see the place you came from with new eyes and extra colors. And the people there see you differently, too. Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving.”
